Daniel Stuelpnagel

Pursuing his fascination with science, architecture and technology, Stuelpnagel works in a systematic layered process of painting geometric abstractions composed with tape and painted in acrylic on canvas and wood panels.

A fusion of mid-century Modern and contemporary influences, the artist’s unique permutations of composition, color and contrast are dynamic visualizations of neural networks and abstract vector spaces that evoke sci-fi space stations, landscapes and alternate dimensions.

“The imaginary and sometimes dizzying perspectives implied in these compositions parallel the sense of dislocation we can experience in adapting to a world in which we are inundated with information, images and ideas through new technology and accelerating innovation.”
